■Difference between brushed motor and brushless motor
The difference between the two is whether or not there is a mechanical contact (brush) to control the rotation of the motor.
The brush type has a simple structure and can be manufactured at a low cost, but the contact part wears out and has a short life.
A brushed motor is used for Mini 4WD.
■Difference between Brushless DC Motor and Synchronous Motor
As the name suggests, brushless DC motors are classified as DC motors, and synchronous motors are generally classified as AC motors, but both work on the same principle.
The name is determined by where you focus on the characteristics of the motor.
If you focus on the fact that the power source is direct current, it is called a DC motor. And if you focus on the fact that the direct current is converted to alternating current by an inverter and the current supplied to the motor is alternating current, then it is called an AC motor.
■Difference between Synchronous Motor and Induction Motor
Synchronous motors(SM) and Induction motors(IM) are both AC motors, but they have the following differences.
<Principle>
・SM :Use magnetic attraction
・IM :Use Lorentz force
<Structure>
・SM :A magnet is used for the rotor (In some cases, the coil is magnetized instead of the permanent magnet)
・IM :No magnets are used in the rotor, only iron cores and coils that carry current
<Advantage>
・SM :It is more efficient than an induction motor because it does not require a current to generate a magnetic field in the rotor. (There is a step-out risk).
・IM :Since the structure and control are relatively simple, they are less expensive than synchronous motors but less efficient.
